"Paddle The World" November Newsletter - 2011

An early "Happy Thanksgiving" to you all! Yes, it's already November and another year is once again flying by. This month we have some tips for 'late season kayaking', a story about an excellent kayak destination in Oregon and a couple of Web News videos that feature a kayaker up close to a whale and some 'kayak surfing'. Last November, one of our customers, Tracy F. was our "cover girl" in her Sea Eagle 330. She's back! This time she's paddling a Sea Eagle Longboard11 at last summer's Outdoor Retail Show which was held near her home in Utah. Our review this month is a summary of what owners have said about the Sea Eagle 330 and 370 inflatable kayaks, two of our most popular models. This month's outdoor tip is about using "Reflective Tape For Kayakers" and this month's recipe uses pumpkin in a tasty dessert called "Pumpkin Gingerbread."

Outdoor Tip - Reflective Tape For Kayakers
Fall paddling can still be fun, but with the shorter hours of light, this month’s tip is to put a strip of reflective tape on the blades of your paddle. This can be extremely helpful when paddling in a group to help keep everyone together in low light conditions. You could also put a strip of tape on your kayak to get the same effect although, in some cases, depending on the material your inflatable or folding kayak may be made of, the tape may not adhere very well. With this tip in mind, use a little imagination and you may find many other uses for reflective tape.
