"Paddle The World" December Newsletter - 2011

Outdoor Tip - Cold Weather Paddling Tips
Unless you are in the extreme north, cold weather paddling is still possible for us outdoor enthusiasts. Just remember these common sense practices and tips for paddling in cold conditions. 1) Where possible, use a spray skirt on your kayak to keep the water from entering the cockpit. 2) Be sure to wear a hat and booties to keep you warm and appropriate gloves that enable you to grip the paddle comfortably and securely. 3) And finally, don’t forget to wear your PFD. Drowning in cold water can happen much quicker than in warm water. Happy Paddling!
