Outdoor Tip - Common Sense Hiking Safety
Many of us paddlers also enjoy hiking or walking along nature trails. So, here are some common sense safety tips for those of us who do.
* It’s best to stay on established trails while walking on cliffs. Watch your footing near the edge, as trees and bushes will not always be reliable to hold on to and they may not be able to hold your weight.
* Be aware of your surroundings and watch for low hanging branches.
* Keep in mind that leaves can hide slippery areas. You wouldn’t want to slip and twist your ankle or something even worse.
Keep these common sense tips in mind when you hit the trail and you'll enjoy those hikes and nature walks a lot more.
